A few of our web projects which are a little outside of the box
State Swim Carnival System
Blis was engaged by State Swim to design and develop an online web based system to manage their biannual carnival. The software allows participants from each school to sign up online and then all of their information is tracked on carnival day. Alerts are sent to the registered emails with race results and people can watch the live results online as each race is completed.
The Amazing Race
As part of the Amazing Race Asia television program Blis was engaged to develop an interactive software system which contestants had to try and solve before they could move onto the next stage. The final solution was totally web based but felt just like a real desktop application.
In conjunction with Martins Brand House (installation, planning & design), the Blis team developed the touchscreen interface used in one of the Adelaide Oval rooms to provide visitors with a virtual tour of the oval and it's facilities.
Blis was engaged to design a number of "fake" interfaces for the Prank Patrol television program. The purpose was to trick the person in the television program into thinking the interface was real and could do amazing things. Pranks including buttons which seem to make things explode and even a device which made it look as though you got stronger and stronger (as shown).
Smart Move Adelaide
Blis worked with Adelaide City Council to deploy the web design project focused on helping people get in and out of the city. Central to this was an interactive web based map which showed local road closures, constructions areas and other obstacles which may impede motorists.
Blis has long been involved with the Rundle Lantern website. Over this time we have designed a number of innovative tools including a UX which allows people to Tweet at the latern. Tools to allow animators to put their own animations on the lantern and even a geo-location system which reveals secret lantern animations depending upon where you are in the city.
Blis worked with the team at News Corp on several projects including the official website for the Messenger news papers. The project featured here was an online competition they held every year where people could send in their details to win one of five $1,000 cash prizes.
Clare Valley Maps
The Clare Valley Tourism Association approached Blis to help them design an online mapping experience for the visitors. The goal was to showcase the best food the region had to offer. The end result is a design which works on mobiles, tablets, desktops and even paper!
Adelaide City Maps
Adelaide City Council engaged Blis Web Agency to use our extensive background in working with Google Maps to help them depict all of the projects happening in the city and share critical details with other staff members. The information is then shared via the website so the residents can monitor how their council rates are being spent.
